Home / Growth Day 2021 / Chris Jenkins
ย
Chris Jenkins has a long and successful track record in the hospitality, real estate and property management industries. Originally from the UK, Chris moved to New Zealand and settled in Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty where she initially continued with her career in hospitality. By the early 2000s, she was a well-respected real estate agent and had moved from a role as a salesperson into sales management. As a business owner in a partnership and Licensee Sales Manager of a thriving Tauranga real estate office, Chris was in charge of the management and supervision of a large team of salespeople.
An innovative and savvy businesswoman, Chris then spent another five years running her own importing and wholesale textile distribution business before returning to her first love โ property โ in 2011. At the time Tauranga was in a significant population growth phase and Connect Realty was established to fulfil the demand for a dedicated, boutique-style, independent property management company.
Located on high profile Cameron Road in the central business district, Chris and the team were well-respected in property management circles in Tauranga. Her staff catered for the many owners and investors who were capitalising on the growth in the city and were also very busy handling the influx of new arrivals seeking a quality well-managed rental home to live in. Her rent roll and the list of satisfied clients grew rapidly with her and her staff of four managing a diversity of residential properties within the greater Tauranga region. Chris sold the company in late 2010 and recently moved to the Nelson area with husband Bryan, dog Lulu and cat Dexter, to be nearer her children and grandchildren.
